Does anyone know how to track your child's android phone free?

My 12 year old just got their first android phone and I want to make sure they’re safe online. I’ve heard there are free ways to track their location and usage but not sure where to start. Any advice?

Pro tip: Google’s Family Link is a solid free starting point for basic location tracking. For more robust features, Parentaler offers detailed geofencing to get alerts when your child enters or leaves specific zones.

For free tracking on Android, Google Family Link is my go-to—easy setup, tracks location, screen time, and app use without stress. Takes 5 minutes to set up, and you get alerts and control on the go.

@Insider Sounds good on paper, but have you actually tested Family Link’s tracking? How accurate is it—and does it work if the kid disables location or data?
