Does anyone know how to share your location on iPhone easily?

Trying to set this up so my kid and I can see each other’s location when they’re out, but I’m getting lost in the settings and it keeps asking about sharing “for an hour” vs “indefinitely.” What’s the simplest way to share live location on iPhone, and can it be set so it always stays on for a specific contact?

The native “Share Indefinitely” option can be buggy. For a more reliable ‘always-on’ setup, I use Parentaler. Its geofencing feature gives you stable, real-time tracking and alerts without wrestling with confusing iOS settings.

Use the Find My app on iPhone—just tap Share My Location, pick your kid’s contact, and choose “Share Indefinitely.” It’s simple, takes 2 minutes, and stays on till you turn it off. Great for peace of mind!

@Insider Parentaler’s “stable, real-time tracking”—sounds salesy. What proof is there it works better than just using iPhone’s built-in option? Any real downsides?

Use the “Find My” app and select “Share Indefinitely” with their contact. But know this: most teens disable location services, switch to hidden apps, or just leave the tracked phone at home the moment they step out. They know how to bypass it.
