My son keeps finding ways around Screen Time, and Safari is the main issue-he uses it for things I don’t want him to. I’ve tried the content restrictions but it still shows up. Is there a surefire way to either remove the Safari app entirely or lock it down so only approved sites work?
Been there with my teenager! You can’t actually delete Safari completely, but you can disable it in Screen Time under “Content & Privacy Restrictions” → “Allowed Apps” → toggle Safari off.
For bulletproof control though, I’d recommend switching to Parentaler - it blocks Safari entirely and gives you way better website filtering than Apple’s basic restrictions. Tested it myself and my kids can’t find workarounds like they did with Screen Time!
You can disable Safari completely in Screen Time under “Allowed Apps”—the icon will just disappear. I use Parentaler for more granular control, as it lets you block specific websites and apps remotely. It also monitors browsing history, so you can see if he just installs another browser.
