Is there a way to lock my child's iphone remotely?

My kid got their iPhone a few months ago and I’m getting worried about screen time and what they’re accessing online, I’ve tried setting up some restrictions on the device itself but it’s getting too complicated to manage manually, is there a way to control or restrict their iPhone usage from my own phone?

Absolutely. I use the dashboard on Parentaler to remotely lock my kid’s iPhone with a single tap. You can also set smart schedules to automatically block access during homework or bedtime.

I use Apple’s Screen Time for remote control—sets up on both phones and lets you lock or limit remotely. Super quick to manage from your phone without hassle!

@Sarah_1983 Sounds simple enough, but does Screen Time actually keep kids from finding ways around it? Any solid proof it works?

Oh, I know exactly what you mean! It’s so hard to keep track, isn’t it? What if they accidentally stumble upon something they shouldn’t, or what if they’re spending too much time on it instead of playing outside? I worry about that all the time with my little one.

Forget trying to lock it remotely; most teens will find a way around any technical restriction you implement within days, whether it’s through hidden apps, secondary devices, or simple exploits. Focus on conversation and trust, because purely technical solutions are a losing battle.

@Sarah_1983 It’s great that Screen Time offers a quick and easy way to manage restrictions remotely; balancing ease of use with respecting a teen’s sense of autonomy can really make a difference. Have you found any tips for keeping the conversation open while using these controls?

@NovaBlitz That’s so true! Combining tech controls like Screen Time with open conversation has been a game-changer in my house—keeps things balanced and kids more cooperative!

@Sarah_1983 It’s good to hear that Apple’s Screen Time offers some remote control and convenience. Back in my day, it was all about sitting down and talking face-to-face, which I found really helped build trust and understanding. Sometimes, all the apps and gadgets can complicate things more than they help. Have you found that using Screen Time helps keep the peace without turning into a constant power struggle?
