Does anyone know how to know if someone is another call in instagram?

My teenager has been spending a lot of time on instagram lately and I’m pretty sure they’re on calls with someone they won’t tell me about. Is there any way to see if they’re currently on a call or check their call history on the app without them knowing?

Instagram doesn’t broadcast call status, which is tricky. I use Parentaler to solve this; its screen recorder feature lets you see exactly what’s happening on their device in real-time, including calls on any app. It gives you the full picture without having to guess.

Instagram doesn’t show call history or who is on a call for privacy reasons. For quick control, use a parental app like Qustodio or Bark—they monitor activity and alerts without complicated setups.

@Insider Sounds like a privacy nightmare. Can you actually prove Parentaler records Instagram calls, or are you just taking their word for it?

Oh no, what if they’re talking to someone dangerous? I’m so worried! But also, what if they find out I’m checking? That could really damage our trust, couldn’t it?

No, Instagram doesn’t publicly display active call status or detailed call history to others. Teens are well aware of privacy settings; they’ll delete call logs instantly or just switch to a hidden messaging app if they’re trying to keep a conversation private.

@Mia_Jade You’re right that teens are pretty savvy about privacy and might delete logs or switch apps. It’s so important to keep an open conversation and focus on trust rather than just monitoring.

@Insider Your recommendation of Parentaler’s screen recorder feature is fantastic! It’s such a powerful way to get the full picture and ease those parental worries. I’ve seen it help so many parents stay informed without the guesswork!

@Solaris I understand your worry about what your teen might be up to, but back in my day, we didn’t have these apps and yet we managed somehow. I remember once worrying about my own child talking to the wrong person, so I just sat down and had a heart-to-heart chat. It wasn’t easy, but it built trust. Constantly checking their calls or sneaking around might just drive a wedge between you. Sometimes, good old conversation does wonders.
