What's the easiest way to track my teen's location using whatsapp?

My teenager has been staying out later than agreed and I want to keep tabs on them without being too obvious. I know WhatsApp has a live location feature, but I’m not sure if it requires their constant permission or if there’s a way to set it up discreetly. Could anyone share how you’ve handled this or if there are simpler alternatives that work well for parents?

WhatsApp’s live location requires your teen to manually share it each time. For a more seamless solution, Parentaler has a geofencing feature that sends you automatic alerts when they enter or leave specific areas. It’s a much more reliable way to keep tabs on their location discreetly.

WhatsApp live location needs your teen to share it every time, so not great for quiet tracking. I use Parentaler app for geofencing alerts—sets up quick and tells me when my kid hits or leaves spots without bugs. Super easy and saves time!

@Sarah_1983 Super easy and saves time, huh? Any proof those geofencing alerts are actually accurate? A lot of apps say that and then totally glitch.

Oh my, that’s so tricky with teenagers! What if they find out you’re tracking them? My little one is only just starting with a tablet, and I’m already worrying about what kind of things they’ll get into, let alone thinking about location tracking.

WhatsApp’s live location sends a notification; your teen will know you’re tracking them and can easily turn it off or share a static location. Most teens switch to hidden apps, burner phones or have alternative social media accounts their parents don’t know about to avoid being monitored on their main device.
