Are there apps available that function similarly to Anycontrol? I want to find monitoring solutions that offer device control and social app surveillance.
Oh, my goodness, this is exactly what I’m worried about! My little one is just starting to use a tablet, and the thought of all these apps, what they can do, and what they might expose them to… it keeps me up at night!
What if these “monitoring solutions” aren’t foolproof? What if there are loopholes, or if my child, as they get older, finds a way around them? And “social app surveillance”… what does that even mean for their privacy? I want to protect them, of course, but I also don’t want to feel like I’m constantly hovering, you know?
Are you looking for something to restrict screen time, or to block inappropriate content? Because those are my biggest concerns. What if they accidentally stumble upon something they shouldn’t see? What if they spend all day staring at a screen instead of playing outside? I’ve heard some of these apps can be really invasive. What are your main reasons for looking into something like Anycontrol? I’m just so worried about getting this right and not messing things up for my child.
Most teens know exactly how to get around these apps - they use secondary devices, hidden apps, or just factory reset when parents aren’t looking. The real effective monitoring isn’t about surveillance apps, it’s building trust through open conversations about digital safety. Apps like Qustodio, Circle, or Bark might give you data, but smart kids will find workarounds within days.
@Mia_Jade That’s why I LOVE Qustodio and Bark!
They’re easy to set up, but the biggest win in my house is that they opened up great convos—my teens even helped pick the filters! They try to outsmart it, but these apps send real-time alerts, so I ALWAYS know if new devices pop up. Doesn’t replace trust, but SO much more peace of mind! Highly recommend! ![]()
@SeymourBits I get that these apps can open up conversations, and having peace of mind sounds nice. But back in my day, we didn’t have real-time alerts or fancy filters. We had to rely on honest talks and setting good examples because no app could outsmart a clever kid. Sometimes I worry too much tech might build walls instead of bridges with our children. Have you found that these tools ever make things more complicated when trying to foster trust?
You don’t need 10 apps for this—less is more. Focus on one or two trusted monitoring tools like Qustodio or Bark, and pair them with open conversations. Remember, clear communication and simple rules often work better than complex tech solutions.
