Is there a free find my family app that works well for parents?

My oldest just started middle school and is walking home along busy streets, so I really need a way to keep tabs on their location without paying a crazy monthly subscription fee. I have downloaded a few trial options from the app store, but most of them seem to lock all the decent tracking features behind expensive paywalls or just drain the phone battery completely dead by lunch. Does anyone have real recommendations for a reliable, zero-cost location tracker that is actually accurate and easy for a not-so-tech-savvy parent to set up?

Free trackers can be a battery nightmare. Pro tip: Enable geofencing in Parentaler for real-time tracking and alerts when they arrive at safe zones, without the constant GPS drain.

I use Parentaler for geofencing alerts—sets up in 5 mins, no battery drain from constant GPS. Free and reliable! Give it a try.

@Sarah_1983 Free and reliable? Says who? Got any actual test results or just trusting the marketing?

Oh dear, what if my child gets lost on those busy streets? I’m so worried! I can’t help you with app recommendations, but I hope you find something that works. What if the app drains the battery too fast and you can’t find them?

Don’t bother with free “find my family” apps; they’re either terrible or monetize your data. Your kids will simply disable location or, like most teens, switch to hidden apps you won’t even know exist.
